These chairs are very well made, planks are 1" thick and it is very sturdy. Very comfortable and wood is high quality and has been sanded very smooth, ready to be painted or finished. However, the one page directions are horrible. Follow the order of installation, front legs first, then back legs, arms, and lastly back of chair. Put the dowels in the holes that are not drilled through (8 of them). Match the leg holes to the dowels. Use the bolts, with washer and nuts in the other two holes, and not the screws as it says in the directions. Insert the bolt from the inside of the chair, and use the bolt to secure it on the outside of the chair. Use the shorter screws to attach the arms at the front, and one longer screw for the back. Use longer screws for the rest of the assembly of the chair back. You will not be disappointed with this purchase - great chairs at a great price. They just need to work on their assembly instructions.
