(More customer reviews)My wife and I were walking through Lowe's one day when she called me over to their patio area and showed me an Adirondack chair with pull-out ottoman. She loved it, but I didn't love the price - $160. I felt it was overpriced. So I went to Amazon and found a few similar chairs, all for much less money. After reading reviews on some others I was a bit concerned because reviewers complained about holes being drilled incorrectly or not at all, making assembly difficult. I took a chance on this chair and am glad I did!
- This chair was only about half of what it would have cost at Lowe's.
- The chair was packaged very well and shipped quickly from this seller.
- Assembly was very straightforward. The directions not only specify screw/bolt size, but also an identification letter, which is clearly marked in each hardware bag, eliminating any guesswork. Hardware provided seems to be of good quality, and will resist weathering. The pictures in the assembly instructions were clear, and when completing a multi-substep part of the directions (put on the side supports, but be sure to do one first, then the back support, then the other side support), each step was very clear. If you can read, you can put this together.
- The finished product looks great, works as described, feels sturdy, and seems like a great value.
One problem: The instructions say you will need a 10mm wrench, 14mm wrench, and a Phillips head screwdriver. This is not correct - you need a 12mm wrench instead of a 14mm wrench. Of course if you have 10mm and 14mm but not 12mm, then "assembly required" furniture is probably not for you. I will not lower my rating of this chair for a minor typo.
One piece of advice: The holes for bolts are drilled slightly larger than necessary, so leave the nuts a bit loose until you're done putting everything together. I had a few "oh no, they drilled the holes in the wrong spots!" moments because when I first put pieces on, they did not line up. But all you have to do is wiggle the other pieces a bit (which is easy to do because you left them loose as I suggested), to get the holes to line up.
